As you seen from the tittle , today i gonna write about phantom.
Phantom is one of the five heros in MapleStory.
Basically , he's just a mix of thief and magician together using cards(skills) to attack.
Story : [ Extracted from : http://maplestory.wikia.com/wiki/Phantom]
A century ago, he was famous among the wealthy merchants and noblemen. He deliberately left traces when stealing, and even then people did not even know who he was. They called him "Phantom".

A hundred years later, Phantom reawakens from the curse. He infiltrates Ereve, where a meeting is being held. Hilla, a commander of the Black Wings poses as an Empress by showing a Skaia (a jewel said to glow in the hands of the Empress) that glows in her hands but doesn't glow in Cygnus's.
Luckily, Phantom comes to the rescue. He calls the Skaia held by Hilla a fake and destroys it, saying that the real Skaia is in his hands. This causes Hilla to back off and flee from Ereve, although she tells him that the Maple World is already in "his" hands. Phantom then gives Cygnus the real Skaia and returns to the Crystal Garden.
The good thing is ........ you don't have to TRAIN TILL LEVEL 10. ^-^

A friend who loved the Maple World has came back to defend it and battle the Black Mage a second time. The Phantom Thief has returned.
ANYWAYS , HE'S SUCHA GOOD LOOKING CHARACTER.*Fan-girl mode on*
Okay back to story , once you created your phantom character , you will reach a place(somehow similar to the fame hall in ereve) and you have to use the skills provided by the npc to escape the guard and enter to port in order to proceed.
Now , let's talk about the skills !
According to : http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/2468954/0/What_should_I_max_at_Phantom_3rd_job.html
These are the some advice :
Bad Luck Ward (20): Self explanatory. You need this if you ever want to boss.
Blason Fantome (11/12): Replaced immediately by Mille Aguilles. Though it's sometimes good for burst damage, but I never use it in 4th job.
Final Feint (20): It's a free Wheel of Destiny plus 60 LUK. It's a lifesaver... literally.
Impeccable Memory III (20): Do I really need to explain this?
Lune (20/19): 30 ATT buff that stacks. Obviously you need to max this. Though you could leave it at 19 if you want, because it still gives 30 ATT.
Mist Mask (20): Shadow Shifter without needing books? Yes please.
Rapier Wit (20): Even though you might not use it much in 4th job. I still use it. And it boosts Brise Carte's damage, which I use A LOT.
First job :
| Icon | Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Double Entendre | Active | Quickly strikes an enemy twice. | |
| Impeccable Memory I | Active | Lets you use 1st job skills stolen from Explorers. Passive effects from skills will not work. Equip stolen skills using Loadout. | |
| Phantom Swiftness | Active | Permanently increases Movement Speed, Max Movement Speed, and Jump. Increasing the Skill Level will increase Jump distance. Can also be used with jump key. | |
| Feather Foot | Passive | Permanently increases Avoidability. |
Same as usual , we have to max all the skills before we can do the second job advancement.
I think impeccable memory I is the best skill.
The best place to steal explorers' skills is to go Ardentmill.
Second job advancement :
| Icon | Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calling Card | Active | Launches enchanted cards at enemies. | |
| Impeccable Memory II | Active | Lets you use 2nd job skills stolen from Explorers. Passive effects from skills will not work. Equip stolen skills using Loadout. | |
| Mille Cartes | Active | Launches a torrent of cards that knocks back enemies. | |
| Carte Blanche | Passive | Each critical attack has a chance to produce a card that attacks nearby enemy automatically. This card is added to your deck. | |
| Cane Mastery | Passive | Increases the weapon mastery and Accuracy of canes. | |
| Cane Booster | Active | Uses MP to temporarily increase the attack speed of your canes by 2 levels. Required Skill: Cane Mastery Lv. 5 | |
| Devil's Luck | Passive | Permanently increases LUK. |
Still the same thing , everything max.
For impeccable memory II , you can steal 'Heal' from the cleric ( because it can help you to save HP pot :D )
And for Carte Blanche , it can raise your critical rate up to 55% !
Calling card is like this :
For the third job advancement :
| Icon | Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blason | Active | Marks enemies with Phantom's coat of arms before slicing them to bits. | |
| Impeccable Memory III | Active | Lets you use 3rd job skills stolen from Explorers. Passive effects from skills will not work. Equip stolen skills using Loadout. | |
| Final Feint | Active | Using this skill will increase your preparedness for all enemy attacks, reviving you instantly with some HP if you reach KO status. This skill increases also increases LUK permanently. | |
| Bad Luck Ward | Active | Casts a sigil to ward off bad luck. Increases HP, MP, Elemental Resistance, and Abnormal Status Resistance. | |
| Mist Mask | Passive | Permanently increases Avoidability chance. | |
| Clair de Lune | Active | Enjoys the cool evening moonlight to increase Attack and Accuracy. | |
| Rapier Wit | Active | Forms a giant sword with cards, then charges and performs multiple attacks. Link with Mille Cartes to reduce post-attack downtime. Permanently increases Mille Cartes's damage. | |
| Piercing Vision | Passive | Permanently increases Critical Rate. | |
| Rapier Wit | Active | Rapier Wit's additional attack |

For Impeccable Memory III , i will choose bless or holy symbol.
Final Feint will definitely help when you're fighting against big bosses.
And the fourth job advancement :
| Icon | Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mille Aiguilles | Active | Fly into a stabbing frenzy, jabbing your enemies with blinding speed. This attack can be executed repeatedly and you can move while attacking. | |
| Impeccable Memory IV | Active | Lets you use 4th job skills stolen from Explorers. Passive effects from skills will not work. Equip stolen skills using Loadout. | |
| Carte Noire | Passive | Each critical attack has a chance to produce a card that attacks nearby enemy automatically. This card is added to your deck. Also permanently increases Avoidability chance. | |
| Penombre | Active | Leaps back and throws a powerful card attack. Link with Rapier Wit to reduce post-attack downtime. Permanently increases Rapier Wit's damage. | |
| Priere D'Aria | Active | Powerful memories of Aria significantly increase Attack and allow you to ignore some enemy DEF. | |
| Tempest | Active | Creates an expanding tornado of cards to blast through enemies. | |
| Cane Expert | Passive | Increases Cane Mastery, Weapon Attack, and Minimum Critical Damage. Required Skill: Cane Mastery Lv. 20 | |
| Vol D'Ame | Active | Steals buffs from nearby monsters. If you steal more than one buff, the most powerful will be applied. This skill only works of monsters have been buffed. | |
| Maple Warrior | Active | Increases the stats of all party members. | |
| Hero's Will | Active | By focusing your mind, you can ignore some abnormal status effects. However, this will not work on all abnormal status effects. | |
| Penombre | Active | Penombre's additional attack |
Seems like alot alot of skills to try out :o
But then right now , i'm stuck at level 98 and lazy to train so yea.
And also , it's also a good time to collect all the justice coins (before the event ended) to exchange for phantom skill books to upgrade your skill !
Gonna end my post here ! Good luck ^^
